Q: What are your room configurations?
A: We have 2 bedroom & 2 bathroom fully self contained apartments. The master bedroom has a Queen size bed with 2 single beds in the 2nd bedroom.

Q: Is Mowbray by the Sea suitable for families?
A: Yes, we happily accept families as much as we welcome couples.

Q: Do we need to bring our own bedding/linen?
A: We provide all bed linen and bath towels. All you need to bring is a beach towel to use at the pool or beach. Beach/pool towels are also available for hire from reception.

Q: Is it possible to connect to the internet in my room for free?
A: We offer free WiFi for all guests. Yes free. Each apartment is provided with 500mb of data traffic per day. This is usually more than enough; however additional data may be purchased from reception.

Q: How many floors are there at Mowbray by the Sea?
A: There are three floors – Ground, First and Second floor.

Q: Is there secure car parking?
A: There is underground secure parking with 1 space allocated for each apartment.

Q: Do you have a swimming pool?
A: Yes, we have a 25 metre HEATED pool. We also have an outdoor spa (same temperature as the pool)

Q: Is the swimming pool heated?
A: Yes, our pool is heated during winter months.

Q: Is there a sun deck?
A: Yes, there are lounge chairs as well as tables and chairs with umbrellas around the pool.

Q: Are there barbecue facilities?
A: There is a gas BBQ poolside for guests use under a pavilion. Please leave the BBQ’s clean and tidy for the next user.

Q: Are the apartments fitted with air conditioners?
A: All apartments are air conditioned

Q: Do the Apartments have a balcony?
A: Yes all apartments have spacious balconies overlooking grassy parkland with outdoor dining furniture and chaise lounges.

Q: Is there a TV and DVD player in the apartment?
A: Yes, each apartment has both. Also we have a selection of DVDs at Reception that are available for guest use free of charge. Don’t forget that each apartment has complimentary Foxtel Satellite TV. We offer a selection of channels including movies, sport and news.

Q: What time should I arrive at Mowbray by the Sea?
A: Check-in time is from 2pm. However if you intend to arrive earlier, please contact us ahead of schedule to arrange this as we may be able to have your apartment ready earlier than 2pm.

Q: When is the departure time?
A: Check-out from your room is 10am. A late check-out can be arranged through reception, please note that this is not available on some occasions.

Q: Does the accommodation accept credit cards?
A: Yes, payments can be made securely online at the time of booking or at reception by cash, eftpos or credit (we accept VISA and Mastercard).

Q: How often are the apartments serviced?
A: Weekly if the stay is more than 7 days.

Q: Is there a restaurant at Mowbray by the Sea?
A: While Mowbray does not have a restaurant, there is an abundant choice of great licensed and BYO restaurants and café’s within a 2 minute walk from Mowbray by the Sea.

Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: Smoking is not permitted in your apartment. You may smoke outside, however please keep the doors closed to ensure the smell of smoke does not enter the accommodation. You may be charged additional cleaning costs if your apartment is unrentable due to smelling of smoke. Please also be considerate of your neighbours and ensure they are not disturbed by the smoke.

Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Sorry, pets are not allowed at Mowbray by the Sea.

Q: Is there a Tour Desk?
A: Yes, our Tour Desk is at reception. Management staff with their local knowledge can advise on what tours are best for you.

Q: Where is Mowbray by the Sea located?
A: Mowbray is 100 metres from 4 Mile Beach. 2 minute walk to Macrossan Street with all of its restaurants, cafes, bottle shops, grocery stores, post office, banks and shops.

Q: How do I get to Cairns if I do not want to hire a rental car?
A: There are plenty of options for transport to take you to Cairns CBD and surrounds or Cairns Airport. Staff at reception can make all arrangements for transport for you that suits your needs.

Q: Is there a discount on accommodation for a wedding group?
A: Mowbray by the Sea welcomes group bookings such as wedding parties wedding parties, extended family groups, special event groups, CONTACT US DIRECT regarding rates.

Q: What are the temperatures in Port Douglas?
A: The Tropical North Queensland temperatures are very dependable. In the cooler winter months Port Douglas’s day temperature is around 21 - 25 degrees Celsius. In the hotter summer months it reaches around 30 - 35 degrees Celsius.

Q: When is the best time of year to visit Port Douglas?
A: Anytime - Summer months are called the Green Season with the tropical rains where everything is lush, Winter months are a good time to get away from the cold of southern states with warm sun filled days in Port Douglas.
